Someone bring a stretcher to Northborough on 5/8/10.....

I signed up for a 4 Mile Road Race in Northborough, MA for next Saturday! I MUST be crazy!!! :) The guy in charge suggested running 5 minutes, walking 2 minutes, etc. so I don't burn out! I am extremely competitive so I may just do fine.  However, I can't even run/jog a mile at the track down the street from my house! Soo we shall see.  But it's on my bucket list to complete a road race and to not finish last! I was almost tempted to put a marathon on my bucket list but there's no way in hell I'd ever be able to run 26 miles! There's no way I could run a 1/2 marathon!!! Nevermind a full marathon! LOL.

Anyways, my goals are as follows:
1. DON'T DIE!!!
2. FINISH!!!
3. Do NOT finish in last!!

That's it!!! The drinking afterwards I think will help to me get through the race!!!!

Red Sox game - 4/23/10

There's nothing better than a Friday night at Fenway Park watching the Red Sox game except enjoying the game with my favorite soccer boys.  For Szymon, John, and Will's birthdays I bought them all tickets to this game!!! And, yes, I am the bestest friend you could ever ask for!!! haha.

Anyways, the evening started by getting out of work at 4pm and meeting Will at Teamworks.  Then we drove to Boston to meet Szymon & John at John's place in East Boston.  We had a couple of Cape Codders before heading off to Fenway. I was a little tipsy/drunk by the time we got off of the subway.  We stopped at McDonalds.  I probably wouldn't have eaten there if I hadnt had anything to drunk because the thought of fast food makes me nauseous!!! Anyways, we get to the game and I probably spent most of my time in the bathroom (anytime alcohol is involved, I live in the bathroom)!!! Szymon and Will both bought me 2 drinks each.  The game was great! We WON 4-3 and Big Papi scored his first home run of the season! Go BIG PAPI!!!!! Then we left at like the 8th inning or so and we got some food at one of the street vendors.  I got some steak tips. YUM!!!!! However, most of it didn't make it to my mouth! LOL.

After the game, we went to John's friends house.  I don't remember being there long.  Just one drink that I ended up spilling anyways! Ughhhhhhh!!! Then, Szymon, Will and I took a cab back to John's house to get our stuff and head home! It was a great night with great friends (even if John did ditch us at the end)! :)

Recommendations

I know this site is dedicated to all the adventurous and crazy things I do but I thought I'd take a moment to tell you of a few of my favorite things (blogs/places/websites/tours) that I think are worth checking out:

1. http://ridgelines.wordpress.com/ - My friend, Jocelyn, and her friend, Meg, are hiking the Appalachian Trail from one end to the other (Georgia to Maine).  This is Meg's blog on the experience.  This hike will on average take about 5 months and they will lose 2/3rds of their body fat.  I admire their courage!!! Especially because I would LOVE to hike the Appalachian Trail from start to end but I could barely get through a 6 hour hike two weeks ago!!! Hopefully I can meet them along the trail when they reach Massachusetts.  I also plan to donate to the Alpine Initiatives for them as well.

2. http://www.oyster.com/ - Just learned of this site today.  It will show you the actual photos of hotels that you will be staying at.  Orbitz or Hotwire or even the hotel website themselves will only show you pictures that look appealing.  This website will show you how they are!!!

3. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ - I never go anywhere without checking this site out!!! These are reviews by people who actually have been to the places whether its an accommodation, place to see/go, restaurant, etc.  They not only rate their experience and give tips, but they sometimes post pictures!!! I live off of this site when planning a vacation!!!

4. Brazil - A MUST SEE!!! I went to the state of Santa Catarina and it was by far, my favorite place I've ever been!!! If you go to Rio or Sao Paulo it's very dangerous but Santa Catarina is much safer!!! Remember, it is still considered a 3rd world country and people are poor! But I loved it here. If you stay in Florianopolis you may get people who speak English but don't count on it.  LOL.

5. Arizona - By far my favorite state in the United States.  The only downside would probably be that there is no ocean.  But then you can drive the 6-8 hours to California!!! It's also close to the coolest states around - California, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah!!  Arizona itself has its gems - the desert (I LOVE cactus), Grand Canyon, Sedona, all the Ghost Towns, and many many more things. Someday I hope to move here.

6. South Dakota - Had I not done research on South Dakota, I probably would have never gone! Up in the Black Hills of South Dakota you will find Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Crazy Horse Memorial, Wall Drug, plenty of chuckwagon supper & shows, a 2 hour drive to Devils Tower, and much much more.  Towns are tiny but South Dakota is gorgeous!!!

7.  Acampa Nature Adventure Tours in Puerto Rico - http://www.acampapr.com/ - I did the Toro Negro Rainforest & Waterfall Zipline Full Day Adventure!! This was an AWESOME tour! I actually preferred this rainforest over El Yunque but then again, if I did the tour of El Yunque with Acampa, then maybe I would've liked it better.  Acampa's tour guides were fantastic.  Very knowledgeable and awesome!!!

8. Xcaret Eco Park in Cancun, Mexico - http://www.xcaret.com/ - I highly recommend at least two days at this park!! We spent a day there and didnt get to see it all.  They picked us up at our hotel and brought us to the park.  As I look at their website, they have a lot more than when I was there.  Things they have include: Shark tours, snuba, snorkeling, swim with dolphin, paradise river, natural pools, snorkeling inlet, beach, lagoons, underground river (AWESOME), sea trek, snuba reef, concerts, tlachco dinner, prehispanic dance, equestrian show, open theater, pre-hispanic ball game, papantla flying men, spectacular nightshow, Mayan archaeological sites, zoo (bat cave, butterfly pavilion, tapir, turtles, jaguars, monkeys, flamingos, manatees, and deer), flower gardens (orchids, mushrooms), aquarium, etc.  It has a LOT.  The beaches are nice to relax in the hammock! It's a GREAT place!!!

9. Medieval Manor in Boston - http://www.medievalmanor.com/laugh.html - Yummy food, funny show! Eat with your hands, be a loud mouth, drink, and be merry!!! What more could you want?

So that's it.  All  my recommendations for now. :)

The Strip Club

So this past Friday night was my second time in a female strip club.  The place wasnt that great.  Actually, it's the same place as the first time I went.  This place is called Hurricane Betty's.  My first time there I hung out at the bar but this time, the group I was with wanted to sit right in front of the stage.  What an experience I must say!!! Butts were doing all sorts of things (i was impressed with the fact that they could do single butt cheek lifts), boobies were flapping around, dollar bills flying everywhere, guys mesmorized by the strippers, etc.  I always thought strippers (well in MA anyways) weren't allowed to fully show your vagina.  I WAS WRONG!!! They show whatever they want!!! LOL.  And I saw 2 of them.  I also got to see some nipple piercings and even one in the clit! They actually looked kind of cool though I personally would never do it!!! The group I was with even gave me some $1 bills to tip the ladies. At one point, one put her boobies in my face and rubbed it around. haha. I didnt want that to happen but now that it has, I guess it wasn't the worst thing that could've happened!! At least it was one of the hotter girls.  My favorite part of the strip club was watching the guys (and even a girl or two) facial reactions to the strippers! It was hilarious!! Some little kid who was under 21 was trying to flirt with me.  I was like seriously? You little kid are going to try and hit on me, 26 yr old, in a strip club? I don't think so.  It was an interesting night to say the least. I would still go to a girl's stripclub anyday over a guys!! I went to a guy's stripclub when I went to Montreal, Canada for the first time.  I was scarred for life! A man's body part is not very attractive!!!

The 6 Hour Hike!!!!

This past weekend I went on a hike with my new friend, Justin.  Prior to this hike, I had only hiked maybe two hours or so up in Acadia National Park.  Last year was the first time I ever really hiked.  We met at Blue Hills by the Trailside Museum in Milton, MA.  It's a good hour drive from my house to the museum.

We set off into the trails at about 10:15 in the morning. It was a great day! We did the main trail but took a few side trails. We saw the weather observatory (nothing much except for a cool stone outside that had some neat information and a little store inside).  We went up and down maybe 4 mountains.  At about 1:30pm we decided to turn back.  Well, let me rephrase that: I decided that we turn back.  Justin is crazy. He probably could've ran the entire time! Not me. At about 1:30 my big left toe was starting to hurt (soccer injury of course) and my back was starting to hurt as well.  We had walked a LOT too!!! So we turned back.  Finally making it back to the State Police part.  We took a break because I was dying.  Then we had to start moving again.  We took a cut through the trail after we got  to the top of the mountain because he said it would cut through the blue trail and avoid anymore mountains that go up.  Well, we are walking and walking and I'm thinking we are almost back to the cars at this point when we end up back at the State Police section! I was like OH NO!!! :( We had to take another break.  At this point, my back was killing me along with my groin!  So this time we set off on the blue trail AGAIN! This time we eventually made it back to the cars at about 4:15-4:30!!! I was dead! I couldn't move anymore!

We then went to Dedham (next town over) for some lunch/dinner!! I was starved! I hadn't eaten anything all day! We ate at Joe's American Bar & Grille. YUM!!! I had the baked potato soup and a chicken caesar salad while Justin went for a burger!!! It was a great end to our day! (Well, I did go to the New England Revolutions game opener. They won 4-1. Then I went out around my house to Mezcal and then had American Idol drunken karaoke at my place!!! Sooo much fun)

Pictures below: Me at the State Police Blue Hills Reservation entrance, and the other 3 pictures are different views of the Boston skyline!

First Post

Welcome to my blog. This blog is going to be dedicated towards my adventurous life that I've been leading for the past 2 years.

In April 2008, my husband decided that he didn't want to be married to me anymore. Rather than wasting all my time crying over him, I decided that I would try and enjoy my life to the best that I could. Does it hurt? Yes, it still does to this day but I try not to let it bother me. We had some great times and moments and everything that happens in life, happens for a reason.

So from 2008 until now, I've gone on some adventures that I'd like you to play catch up on:

*I decided in May 2008 that I needed to get away from everyone! I was so sick and tired of hearing "I'm sorry" and "I know how you feel" (even though I'm sure most people didn't). So I wanted to get away. Instead of taking a vacation with friends, I booked myself a flight into Phoenix, AZ and return flight from Las Vegas in Aug/Sept 2008. It was a fantastic trip! I finally got to meet a longtime online friend of mine, Vanessa. We met online when we were in middle school and had aol websites. I got to see Phoenix, Sedona, Flagstaff, 4 Corners, Monument Valley (Utah), Grand Canyon, Jerome, and Las Vegas (Nevada). It was the best trip of my life!

*December 26th, 2008 - January 1st, 2009 - Drove down to Washington DC with a college buddy of mine, Patrick. I stayed at his place in Virginia and got to see most of the main sites in Washington. It was so much fun and a great way to ring in 2009.

*May 2009 - Spent Memorial weekend at Acadia National Park in Maine. Other than a flaming marshmallow incident, it was an awesome trip! There were so many places to hike and it was just gorgeous! I am more than likely going there this year!! And if so, I'm definitely going to see the sunset at a certain mountain (the sunset there is the eastern most point of the US so it's the first sunset the US sees)!!!

*July 2009 - VEGAS bound for Jason & Vanessa's wedding. I got to attend my friend, Vanessa's wedding. I felt so special to be invited to such a joyous occasion.

*August 29 - September 7, 2009 - South Dakota/Wyoming/Montana. My 2nd big solo trip was to South Dakota. I saw all the sites of Rapid City (Reptile Gardens, Bear Country USA, Chapel of the Hills, Black Hills Caverns), Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park, Wind Cave National Park, Jewel Cave National Monument, Minuteman Missile National Historic Site, Wall Drug, Deadwood, Sturgis, Devils Tower (Wyoming), and I even crossed the border into Montana just because I could! lol. I got to meet up with my cousin, Danielle, in Devil's Tower whom I hadn't seen in 5 years! I also made some great friends who are from Colorado while spelunking in Wind Cave!!! It was a great trip!

*December 25, 2009 - January 1, 2010 - PUERTO RICO!!! My latest trip was to Puerto Rico. It wasn't as nice as Mexico or Brazil but it was awesome in its own way. I did an all day tour of Toro Negro rainforest where we hiked upstream and rope climbed up a waterfall. Then we hiked up a mountain and ziplined down! It was awesome. I also did a tour of El Yunque and did the bioluminescent bay. I even rented the smart car (worst car ever) and drove around the island! Craziness!

So the past two years have been full of adventures. It's been fun and exciting. This year I have a few planned: Memorial weekend I may be going back up to Acadia (but I'm hoping to find some other people to go to Western MA to hike part of the Appalachian Trail), Aug/Sept I'm hoping to go to Idaho/Yellowstone/Grand Tetons, and then Dec/Jan I am planning on going to Cape Coral/Keys/Everglades in FL. Not to mention, 2 months from now, I'll be jumping out of a plane!!! I'm afraid of heights but skydiving seemed like a perfect way to get rid of my fear completely! LOL.

Soo...I'm going to post some pictures of the past 2 years. Enjoy.

Til next time...
