oh my it's been too long

Boy do I have a lot of updating and pictures to post! However, right now I just wanted to talk about the number game on people's facebook statuses..

So this is what has been happening. People have been posting the following (or something along the lines): "In my inbox, send me a number (1-500) & I'll write something under my comments on this status about you using that number & no one will know who I'm talking about but you"...I find this to be a great idea so I have posted it.  I wanted to share what some people wrote about me because I thought they were wonderful:

12 you're an amazing person. Total package, looks intelligence, sense of humor, and a wild side. It's truly sad you're out of my league. Definately wish we could hang out more, but schedules are difficult. Hope things are going well for you. Stay beautiful ;)

#12=You are a NUT!!! thats what people love about you...

12: Well lady what can i say.I have known you forever! You are so funny and fun to be around! Me loves you

#12 what can I say lol.. you are an amazing woman and I envy all that you can do with your life. We have gone through so much the last 2 years experiencing similar heart breaks. You are an awesome friend and I love you to death.

#12 another good friend i met recently and def one of the ones i plan on keeping in touch with for a long time, in everytime we have hung out its never been a dull moment

#12 I aspire to live my life the way you do! I've never heard of someone doing so much! The stories you must have :) You always make it to anything you're invited to and that's greatly appreciated because you're a joy to be around! We should make time to hang out more often! :)

I am truly loved.

I now have two loves in life - Cape Cod and Surfing

My first time on Cape Cod happened July 10th. It was awesome. My first thought was "how is that I've lived in Massachusetts my entire life and NEVER been to this gorgeous place?" Of course, that was always most people's responses when they learned that I had never been there! My friend, Kathy, and I left Worcester early in the morning to venture down to the Cape.

When we arrived, our first stop was to Nickerson State Park to see if the people had left the campsite so we could set up tent early. They hadn't. So our next venture was to check out a windmill. I had never seen a real one in person before. I was intrigued. We went, it wasnt all that exciting! LOL. Then we went to Nauset Beach. We were just going there for about an hour. Come to find out the parking was ridiculously expensive. Over $25 so we drove and drove til we found some free parking. We just had to walk a bit to get to the beach! Nauset is a gorgeous beach by the way!!!

After that, we went back to the State Park and I set up our tent. We then continued up the Cape to head to where we were supposed to go surfing. We made a pit stop at the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center so that I could get my National Park passport book stamped (yes, I'm that dorky). We also stopped by and drove by two lighthouses too. It was a nice scenic drive.

We got to Head of the Meadows beach which is a part of the national seashore and met up with our instructor. The instructor was a lot of fun. He was only 17 years old! I told him that I felt like I was doing something illegal with him teaching me! haha. Our first task when we met up with him was to carry the surfboards from the cars to the water. Kathy had a hard time doing this so it ended up being me and the instructor.
Once we got to the beach, he showed us how to get up on the surf board before we got up on the sand. Then Kathy decided to wimp out because the waves scared her. I got out there and had a ball! It was sooo much fun! It took me 3 failed attempts before I got up and rode the wave. My instructor was amazed that I actually finished the wave on my first jump up! I guess I’m a NATURAL! Hehe. It was so much fun! The waves were higher than expected because there was a storm coming and there were reminisce of previous storms. I surfed for 2 awesome hours! I loved it so much that when I got home that weekend I looked into buying a wetsuit and surfboard!!!

After surfing, we drove to Provincetown where we spent the night. We went up the tower and saw a spectacular view of the ocean and a rainbow as the rain was passing us. Then we walked around and went to all the shops. We saw a show called Icons. There were these two dragqueens who dressed up like woman celebrities and performed. It was a good time!!!

I am eager to go back to the Cape! I’m hoping that I can go back in October to see the foliage! It should be nice. I now have two new loves – Cape Cod and SURFING!

White Water Rafting!!!

June 26th my friend, Janet, and I, drove 4.5 hours away to spend time in The Forks, ME.  It's a small town...only 30 people live there. YES, ONLY 30 PEOPLE LIVE THERE!!! haha. I could become friends with the people who live there, run for Mayor, and get elected!!! How scary would that be??

We got to check into our adorable cabin early.  We booked it through Northern Outdoors (HIGHLY RECOMMEND).  Then we set off to hike part of the Applachian Trail.  We did the Pleasent Pond Mountain trail.  It was a good hike but we were exhausted by the time we got back to the car!!! haha. I didn't realize this until we were leaving and got out to the road.  There was a HUGE AT sign which is the start/end (pending which way you start on the trail) of the Appalachian Trail!!! I was psyched.

Then we decided we wanted to go see Moxie Falls.  For those of you who don't know this, Moxie Falls is the tallest waterfall in New England.  It's 90ft tall.  It was pretty but there wasn't much to do so I'd say we were there all but a half hour!

Our next adventure was in search of salad to make with our pasta. We went to this one store which was smaller than a Honey Farms but was more like a hardware store! LOL.  Soooo we bought some Mikes Lemonade.  Then, we went 20 miles the other way to find the other grocery store which was like a small convenient store.  We found lettuce and parmesan cheese and dressing so that was our salad.   We got back to our cabin after and cooked ourselves some grub.  Pasta with sauce (loved how the can opener was BROKEN) and lettuce with dressing and cheese!! Gourmet meal right there!!! We were then exhausted from our day and decided to take an hour nap before getting ready to go out!!!!

The Northern Outdoors has a nice lounge where they have music on Saturday nights.  Sooo once we got ready, we headed down to hang with the rest of the people who were staying with Northern Outdoors.  They had cornhole games going on, music, people in the hot tub, people at the bar, in the arcade room, etc.  It was a good time. We went to the arcade and people just came up to us and started talking.  Then they invited us to watch them and learn to play cornhole (yes, I've never played it before).  While they were playing, I was in the hot tub!!! I mean, how can you resist??? It was a good time.  We met a few cool people and we even met an attractive guy who invited us to continue drinking at his cabin! It was a good night to say the least.

The next day, we went white water rafting down the Kennebec River.  It was soo much fun. Kind of wimpy though.  I think I would do a harder river next time!!! It was so much fun though.  A girl on our raft fell out, we got to go swimming, had yummy steak (the pasta salad, rice, etc were alright), and I got to sport a wet suit!!! It was a good time.  Then on our way home I started to fall asleep.  I hate doing that to people when they are driving but I couldnt keep em open. I think I took like an hour or two nap!

I loved it.  June 26-27, 2010.

Next up:  Surfing lessons on 7.10.10 in Cape Cod.   Killing two items off my bucket list there!!!!

The cRaZiNeSs that is my life part 3

SKYDIVING!!!!

Well, I survived the drop and let me tell you....IT WAS THE BEST THING IN THE WORLD!!!! I really had a great time! I wasn't nervous at all and I was going on only 2 hours of sleep! It was great though! I feel like a new person! All my problems that I had prior to jumping don't bother me anymore! I don't know what else to say other than it was amazing!

I jumped at Skydive New England in Lebanon, ME.  I jumped from 12,000ft and I could see the White Moutains and Lake Winnippisaki (spelling?)!!! It was a gorgeous view! My instructor was definitely nice to look at too :)!!! The only thing that I didn't read about was the fact that my ears bothered me.  I mean, you don't think when you get there that you will be up in the plane and that you should've chewed gum!!! I know that for next time though! And there will definitely be a next time!!!

The most asked question I've gotten was: Were you nervous? Well, to be honest, not really.  I was fine prior to entering the plane and all the way up to the door opening.  I did take a deep breath in when I was on the ledge of the door in the plane and realizing what was about to take place.  But it was a rush and I really wasnt all that nervous.  I was more nervous when the parachute went up and they take you on a rollercoaster-like ride to the right and left when they control it.  I got some major butterflies in my stomach when I did that!!!! I was also unaware as to the parachute opening which I jerked back for.

It was great though.  I can't wait to go again!!! It's such a rush!

The cRaZiNeSs that is my life part 2....

This posting is about June 12th!!!! First off, I drove all the way to Maine to go skydiving just to have to reschedule due to inclement weather. Ughhhhhh. So I rescheduled to go on Fathers Day (see The cRaZiNeSs that is my life part 3).  Anyways, I went to my friend Crystal's house for a Hawaiian themed birthday party!!! It was fun. Then, a bunch of my other friends were going out for Alex's birthday.  We went to the Salty Dog in Worcseter where I completed something from my bucket list: Riding a mechanical bull!!! :) Oh boy...was it fun! However, watching the video it made me realize I really need to drop weight!! I'm a heffer (or however you spell it).

Anyways, it was still a fun night.

The cRaZiNeSs that is my life part 1....

So I haven't updated in almost a month because I've been so busy...So I figured I'd do a few posts with the same title but with different adventures I went on.  So lets back track and start with Memorial Weekend.  I went to Acadia National Park for the weekend. It's my 2nd trip there as I went last Memorial Weekend.  I left Friday morning and arrived around 11:30am.  I met my sister and her friend, Ginny, up there (same people I went with last year).  We went into Bar Harbor and took a lobster and seal tour!! The seals were sooo cute and I wanted to take one home! :(  Then I took a nap at the campsite right next to the fire.  Oh and boy do me and fires have a love/hate relationship! I managed to put my foot on the edge of the fire pit so that my sandal could begin to melt and my blanket had a burnt hole in it.  Ahhh good times!!! After my nap, we went up Cadillac Mountain and I hula-hooped around the mountain.  Then, we went into Bar Harbor for dinner at Geddy's.

The next day I woke up and ventured off to St. Croix Island National Historic Site and Campobello Island by myself.  You can't go to St. Croix Island but it was a nice 1/2 hour visit to learn about the place.  Then I found a sign along the highway that showed you were exactly 1/2 way between the equator and the north pole (45th parallel north) so that was exciting but not really. lol.  My next venture was to Campobello Island.  It is a part of New Brunswick so you need a passport to enter into the small island (only 10 miles long). I saw FDR's vacation home (Did you know he married his 1st cousin? yuck) and went to the lighthouse.  That was all there really was in Campobello Island.  Then, after crossing back into the USA, I went to Lubec, ME which happens to be the Easternmost Town in the United States so naturally there is a sign that says "Easternmost Point in the US"...And of course I got a photo! LOL!! After that I drove back to Acadia getting pulled over twice with just a warning and stopping at the Schoodic Peninsula section of Acadia that I've never seen.  Back at the campsite I just ate and hit the sack for the night.

The next day I got up earlier than my sister and her friend so I did the loop road drive.  Then, ate breakfast (beer & cereal).  We went to the Bar Harbor brewery (Yes, at like 10am!)  Then went hiking! After hiking we went to a lighthouse then we hung out in Bar Harbor where they have the coolest store, Cool As Moose where I did the slackline and held my balance pretty well! Then we ate at the campsite and headed to bed.  The next morning I woke up for sunrise!!! It was GORGEOUS!!! Then we all left to head home! :( I did make a stop in Freeport so I could see the biggest globe in the world. And yes, it was VERY BIG!

So all in all it was a great weekend!!!!

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk

I had a party Saturday night.  It was a good time but I think I have to stop doing shots.  Every time I do shots I end up throwing up and not remembering anything.  But overall, I think everyone had a great time.  We played cards, Jon cooked on the grill, we played beer pong, we watched the Celtics kick some ass, and we even spent a lot of time in the bathroom (hahaha!) A friend and I worked out our issues apparantely but I wish I knew what was said (the one part of the night is the only thing I don't remember!)

Needless to say, Saturday night was an adventure.

I lived to tell the tale.....

Saturday, May 8th @ 9:00am I embarked on my first road race.  It was the Northborough 4 Mile Road Race that benefited the Proctor School Enrichment Fund. I achieved all my goals which if you read the last post was not to die, to finish, and to not finish last! Also, my last minute goals was to not get struck by lightning and to finish in less than 45 minutes (which is what people at work said my time would be). :)  My finishing time was 38:23 (that comes out to (9:36/mile) and I placed 41st out of 54! It was a crappy day too. The temperature dropped so it was pretty cold and it was raining. Then shortly after starting, the thunder & lightning from 5am had returned.  I thought we were all going to get struck and die.  I didn't even walk any of it except for a few steps to relax my shins enough to continue to run/jog. There was a water station at mile 1 and 3 and I think my chest got more water than my mouth did! LOL.  I was proud of myself and learned that I can do anything I put my mind to. One bucket list down, a TON more to go!

Check out the results!!! I was only 3 minutes off of my friend & fellow soccer teammate, Szymon! :)  My friend Mason, his girlfriend Marissa, and Marissa's uncle also joined the race.  Marta went a little too fast in the beginning so she had to stop at mile 2.

Someone bring a stretcher to Northborough on 5/8/10.....

I signed up for a 4 Mile Road Race in Northborough, MA for next Saturday! I MUST be crazy!!! :) The guy in charge suggested running 5 minutes, walking 2 minutes, etc. so I don't burn out! I am extremely competitive so I may just do fine.  However, I can't even run/jog a mile at the track down the street from my house! Soo we shall see.  But it's on my bucket list to complete a road race and to not finish last! I was almost tempted to put a marathon on my bucket list but there's no way in hell I'd ever be able to run 26 miles! There's no way I could run a 1/2 marathon!!! Nevermind a full marathon! LOL.

Anyways, my goals are as follows:
1. DON'T DIE!!!
2. FINISH!!!
3. Do NOT finish in last!!

That's it!!! The drinking afterwards I think will help to me get through the race!!!!

Red Sox game - 4/23/10

There's nothing better than a Friday night at Fenway Park watching the Red Sox game except enjoying the game with my favorite soccer boys.  For Szymon, John, and Will's birthdays I bought them all tickets to this game!!! And, yes, I am the bestest friend you could ever ask for!!! haha.

Anyways, the evening started by getting out of work at 4pm and meeting Will at Teamworks.  Then we drove to Boston to meet Szymon & John at John's place in East Boston.  We had a couple of Cape Codders before heading off to Fenway. I was a little tipsy/drunk by the time we got off of the subway.  We stopped at McDonalds.  I probably wouldn't have eaten there if I hadnt had anything to drunk because the thought of fast food makes me nauseous!!! Anyways, we get to the game and I probably spent most of my time in the bathroom (anytime alcohol is involved, I live in the bathroom)!!! Szymon and Will both bought me 2 drinks each.  The game was great! We WON 4-3 and Big Papi scored his first home run of the season! Go BIG PAPI!!!!! Then we left at like the 8th inning or so and we got some food at one of the street vendors.  I got some steak tips. YUM!!!!! However, most of it didn't make it to my mouth! LOL.

After the game, we went to John's friends house.  I don't remember being there long.  Just one drink that I ended up spilling anyways! Ughhhhhhh!!! Then, Szymon, Will and I took a cab back to John's house to get our stuff and head home! It was a great night with great friends (even if John did ditch us at the end)! :)
